Liz Kendall Campaign for the Living Wage
Now whilst I may not necessarily be swayed to vote for Liz Kendall in the upcoming Labour Leadership election (although, at this point in time, I’m not ruling anyone out definitively), I wholeheartedly support Liz’s campaign for the Living Wage and fully agree that it’s definitely time for ‘a fresh start’.
New Labour brought in the National Minimum Wage in 1998 – a guarantee that no matter what work you were doing that you would be paid no lower than a set amount per hour. This policy was huge in terms of social justice and progressive politics – and now it’s time to take another bold step and start to implement the Living Wage.
I’ve added my signature to support the Living Wage campaign because I believe that everyone deserves a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work.
